No one has offered diesel cars in the US longer than Mercedes. Their latest diesel, the 2014 GLK-Class, gets an updated exterior, interior, and a diesel engine that costs less than the premium V-6.The GLK consists of three models, a rear-wheel drive GLK350 and the all-wheel drive GLK350 and GLK250 4MATIC.
The drivetrain consists of either a 302-hp 3.5-liter V6 engine or a 200-hp 2.1-liter 4-cylinder turbodiesel. Both engines are matched with a seven-speed automatic transmission. All versions of the GLK are equipped with 19-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, cruise control, 8-way power front seats, and dual-zone automatic climate control. Following last year's design update, the 2014 Mercedes GLK may look somewhat rugged, but it's actually a very comfortable crossover with pleasant driving manners. The first prototypes for the second-generation Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class have started testing, and we’ve already scooped some photos.

Mercedes glk 2014
They are the hype in both Europe and the United States. Now, enter the 2014 Mercedes-Benz GLK 250 Bluetec. The newest variant of Mercedes-Benz’s popular compact SUV, the GLK class, this GLK 250 drops the the traditional 268-horsepower V6 in favor of a 2.2-liter turbo diesel, just one of the many new diesel offerings Mercedes has prepared for the American market. The styling won’t be boxy and angular like the GLK’s, but rather softer. It will be punctuated by a lot of flowing and twisting lines, not all of which make sense at first—or even second—glance. Inside, you can be sure the new model will sport the latest versions of COMAND and Mercedes’ various other safety and telematics technologies.Upgrades and changes continue inside where the formerly rather utilitarian interior becomes brighter, ruled by circular—and quiet— air vents at mid-chest hight.More air, quieter air, cool. Last year’s instruments are colorized and the steering wheel is completely changed gaining control over most functions of the in-dash display/navigation/audio system. Conveniently, the instrument cluster display located between speedometer and tachometer can provide a choice of advising you of FM station or CD track, navigation, or other choices.
The GLK's standard-equipment list leaves no question that it's a luxury vehicle. It includes 19-inch wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, power front seats, and Bluetooth connectivity. Satellite radio is available; so are a power liftgate; a navigation system powered by COMAND; and 20-inch wheels. New this year on all models is mbrace2, the Mercedes connectivity suite that puts mobile apps in touch with the vehicle.Overall, the GLK 250 Bluetec seems to have everything going for it: utility, economy, and best of all, classic Mercedes luxury. However, with tough competition from Audi’s Q5, BMW’s X3, and Land Rover’s Evoque, the GLK remains in a competitive market amongst younger buyers.
