hyundai elantra 2014 review.I have 20000 miles on my elantra. the first 600 miles I followed the recommended break-in procedure from the owners manual. I drive conservatively and always have eco on. I average 22 to 24 mpg city. very disappointing. dealer checked it out and said all specs were normal. I was doing almost that well with my sonata.
My trunk latch and glove compartment have had to be replaced. Noise from front brakes that dealer could not solve. One of the best compact cars on the market, the 2013 Hyundai Elantra continues to be a winning combination of compelling styling, able performance and interior comfort. For 2013, there are more variants to love.

it's a mid-size vehicle, and it shows. The sedan's front seats could use a little more bolstering and lateral support, as in the coupe, but on either, they're surrounded by ample space in all directions.
In back, the leg room is fine for adults, but head room can be tight, even for medium-height passengers. Coupes don't have a simple single-lever arrangement, which makes it a bit futzier to get into the back. The rear seats fold forward easily, if not completely flat, and that allows longer objects to be loaded into the relatively large, wide trunk. The Elantra's interior has lots of useful cubbies and storage bins, including a covered one that sits ahead of the shift lever: it also contains the aux jack, a power point, and the USB port in an easy to reach module, perfect for connecting smartphones.Center console was better with two separate compartments, and was replaced with sliding arm rest which I find useless. Almost impossible to lower back seats except from trunk. trunk latch was stuck so back seats could not be lowered to look in trunk. For the 2013 model year, coupe and GT hatchback models join the Hyundai Elantra sedan, and all body styles have a four-cylinder engine and standard six-speed manual transmission. A six-speed automatic is optional. Most members of the automotive press say that the engine strains under hard acceleration, but agree that overall, the Elantra benefits from accurate steering, smooth transmissions and a comfortable ride. With either transmission, the Elantra has good EPA-estimated fuel economy ratings of 28/38 mpg city/highway. Test drivers agree that the Elantra GT and coupe are sportier than the base sedan.By pure happenstance I ended up with an Elantra GT immediately after reviewing the 2014 Kia Forte sedan. As I said last week in the Forte review, the Elantra and Forte are related, but this isn’t a case of Korean badge engineering. It’s far more complicated. The Forte is the new kid on the block while the Elantra has been around for a few years. At this stage in life, Hyundai is trying to inject vitality into the Elantra name by adding new models.

In addition to differences in dimensions and styling, the new Elantra Coupe and GT use unique suspension components for a stiffer ride. A V-beam rear suspension, instead of the torsion beam found on the sedan, gives the coupe and GT a firmer, more planted feel, and helps to reduce body roll around corners. Suspensions are tuned differently between models with standard 16-inch and optional 17-inch wheels, with the larger wheels receiving an even sportier treatment.the way the Elantra sedan's rear quarter panels mimic the lightness of the last G6 can't be lost on GM, which now has the handsome but staid little Chevy Cruze to sell. If anything, the Elantra's cockpit's a little more daring than the exterior, with the hourglass of the center console a defining shape that just happens to function perfectly as a comfy knee rest.Reviewers give mixed opinions on the interior controls’ ease of use, and one reviewer is particularly annoyed with the touch-screen navigation system, which fades out in the sun. All 2013 Elantra models have good front and rear cabin space. Test drivers even say the coupe’s second-row seats fit adults, though the sedan and GT’s rear rows are more comfortable.
